Beatrice: Urk...! I... I refuse!
Battler: Then prove that you can do it in survival mode...! And if you don't... then you will lose your right to be the Parkour Champion...!

Triwizard Champion
A/N HELLO this is a bit of a random one tbh, it’s based on HP second task of finding the one you value most, but a lil different in set up, also Sirius x reader cause lel ENJOY xx
"Four turns should do it" said a familiar deep voice. Y/N blinked herself more awake, focusing in on Dumbledore who was currently speaking.
She was standing in the Great Hall surrounded by the two other champions, Ministry officials and Dumbledore who was smiling widely. He handed out time turners to each champion, the gold necklace cold in Y/N’s hand.
"Someone of value has been taken from each of you and it is your task to go and rescue them from where-ever they may be. You will have four hours to find them and take them back here, but beware- there will be traps set up everywhere and remember, the only person who can see you in this time is your person of value"
Y/N grimaced, He couldn't have just told everyone in the castle we were doing a challenge?
"Your person could be anywhere in the castle excluding common rooms and our precious teachers’ offices. You will also be given a small clue to try and help you find them." Dumbledore gave a sweeping glance to the champions to see if they had understood. "Fantastic, now let's get started, shall we? Now if everyone would line up over here"
Dumbledore guided them over to three brightly marked spots in the ground, each the colour of the three schools.
Y/N ran her hand over the cool surface of the time turner, careful not to turn it. One of the officers handed out some white slip of paper to each contestant. Y/N opened it curiously and read the small riddle printed on it.
'In the castle where everything is hidden.
If you have to ask you will never know, if you know, you need only ask'
"There is one minute left until the cannon sounds, at that time you will turn your time turners 4 times and remember when you are done, come back here to your original spots" he smiled widely, " and Good l-"
But he was cut off by the loud 'Bang!' from the cannon. Y/N quickly turned the time turner back four times and felt the world spinning around me.
Y/N shut her eyes, feeling dizzy and only reopened them when her feet stable the cold, hard ground. Y/N stumbled backwards in surprise before composing herself.
Y/N slipped quickly through the door to the Great Hall, closing it slowly to stop it from making any noise. The corridor was pitch black and as much as Y/N loved the idea of tripping on something and dying or getting seen, Y/N cast 'Lumos'.
A soft light shone from her wand, forcing her to walk slowly, paranoid that someone was going to swing around the every corner she reached.
Y/N crept up towards her, failing miserably at concealing the sound of her footsteps hitting the cold floor. The moon was shining in lightly from the window above, creating an eerie glow on the corridor. Y/N automatically checked it for a full moon- it was only half. She paused momentarily, realising the hadn’t actually given any thought to her clue.
Where is everything hidden? Was it one of the secret passageways? But Sirius said only they knew most of them. if you know, you need only ask… only ask.
“Fuck, of course,” Y/N swore a little too loudly, sprinting down the corridor. She slid too fast around a corner, hitting her shoulder against the cold bricks but continued on, swearing internally as sharp pain shot down her arm. Finally she reached it, taking in a hurried breath before standing in front the large wall.
Y/N closed her eyes for a second before pacing up and down in front of it, thinking the same thing over and over.
'I am looking for the one I value most, I am looking for the one I value most'
There was suddenly a breaking sound coming from the wall in front of her and a door appeared, pushing through the walls barriers, twisting into a large black gated door. Y/N sighed in relief, pushing it open with some effort, struggling to close it quietly.
The moon light trickled in from the windows, lighting up portions of the room and making large ominous shadows across the rest.
Y/N moved slowly across the concrete floors. The room was covered in an array of things; forgotten toys, books, a large ornamental chandelier and even a few plants, forming a maze across the huge room. Her footsteps became louder as she moved faster, wondering how on earth she was meant to find anything in here.
"Y/N...?" Y/N heard a slightly scared and amazingly familiar voice call out, "is that you?"
Y/N’s heart sunk. She hadn’t thought it would be him. Lily maybe, or Remus, possibly James… but… fuck.
"I'm over by the stack of fairy tale books and the small tree... like... thing..."
“I’m coming!” Y/N called back, moving through the maze towards the sound of his voice.
Y/N saw the small tree and started jogging towards it, Sirius slowly coming into sight as she turned a corner.
"Well hello there" he attempted to grin but was clearly still groggy from whatever spell they had put on him. His eyes were tired, ropes tying up his hands and legs to a metal pole sticking up from the ground. Y/N reached over to his hands and untied them from the pole before crouching down and untying his ankles. He stepped forwards just before Y/N came up came tumbling down towards her, arms out too break his fall.
“Shit, sorry Y/N,” Sirius gasped, breathing out a sigh of relief when they landed with nothing sounding like a break. Y/N couldn’t help but notice how close his face was from her own, his breath sending a small shiver across her shoulders. His hands were placed either side of her head, legs were on top of her own. Y/N stared back at him, looking at how his grey eyes showed mixes of blues and greens hinted through the light.
"Um... would you mind getting up?" Y/N said pointedly, clearing her throat as he rolled off.
He stuttered an apology before helping Y/N up.
"So, I was your person of value, huh?" He raised an eyebrow at her, a smirk curling on his lip.
"We-" Y/N started but cut herself off, staring suddenly past Sirius and at their surroundings. Sirius noticed her looking and he turned, only to jump back slightly and gasp.
In the time that it took for them to get off each other, the entire room had grown, literally. From the books to the plants and toys, everything loomed above us, blocking all the exits to the maze.
"Well, shit" Y/N muttered.
Y/N stood silently, eyes wide at the unfortunate scene in front of her.
“Let’s destroy the Room of Requirement shall we?” Sirius turned to Y/N and grinned.
“Sounds good.” Y/N pulled out her wand, holding it out and nodding for Sirius to follow behind her, ignoring his slight giggle.
The moon was blocked from the items surrounding them, and even the small burst of light from Y/N’s wand was merely creating more ominous shadows that seemed to almost dance around them.
There was a small path between the lost things, but Y/N could already see the end of it being blocked by a giant wooden box. It was a dark mahogany and seemingly somewhat chewed apart by something.
Y/N stopped suddenly, making Sirius crash into her back.
"What th-" but she glared and shushed Sirius quickly.
"I swear on merlin's grave that the box just moved," Y/N said cautiously, her voice wavering slightly.
"So... what do you think is in there?"
"I have no idea," Sirius replied. The box gave a definite jolt and both Y/N and Sirius jumped back in surprise.
"Something big," Sirius said on second thought, looking for a way around it. Y/N, however, stepped forward, wand out and smoothly unlocked the box.
The door creaked open very slowly. There was a whirl of wind in front of them and Y/N heard Sirius gasp as they both realised what was inside.
Sirius, being the heroic idiot, jumped in front of Y/N, swinging his arms in front of her like a barricade. The woman suddenly became that whirlwind once more, reshaping and becoming closer to the floor as it did so.
Sirius audibly gulped when it changed. A duplicate Y/N had appeared covered in scars and wounds, distorting her, making it almost impossible to recognise. Her clothes were stained in blood and both arms pushed awkwardly up and above her head.
Y/N felt her breathing hitch when she saw what it was. Sirius had frozen, and Y/N was sure she could hear his heart beat clanging from his back.
“Ridiculous!” Sirius yelled suddenly, grabbing Y/N’s wand from her hand and pointing it aggressively at the boggart.
There was another whirlwind and without giving it a second thought Sirius whipped Y/N’s wand again, this time yelling Bombarda.
The box exploded, the boggart getting sucked into the explosion along with it, though Y/N was very unsure if that was exactly the best way to get rid of a boggart. Or, if it was still there.
“Shit,” Sirius swore. The objects around the room had begun to grow larger, closing in around them. Obviously exploding their way out wasn’t the answer. A large set of books landed on the back Y/N’s leg, a cry coming out from her as she fell forwards, landing hard on her foot.
Sirius pulled her up and was about to ask if she was ok but she grabbed his hand and pulled him down the pathway.
"Let’s go!” Y/N yelled, desperate to make distance between them and whatever remnants of the boggart they’d left. a little.
Y/N suddenly stopped, Sirius slamming into her back. She rolled her eyes at his frustrated expression.
"Don't you ever pay attention to your surroundings?" She pointed sideways towards a giant cabinet. Leaning against it were 4 broomsticks.
Y/N kicked off the floor, narrowly avoiding a large double bed crashing into them, the edge scraping into Y/N’s face. It was almost as much of a maze in the air as it was on the floor. They seemed to be dodging objects every second, Y/N could see blood dripping from multiple points of Sirius’ body and was sure there was the same on her.
Y/N swerved past a tennis racket that had just been flung at her face as Sirius nearly did a 360 on his broom to avoid a small bedside table trying to tousle his hair.
Sirius jerked upwards suddenly as two pillows came crashing towards either side of him, causing them to crash into each other and Y/N to swerve sideways dangerously.
Suddenly, Y/N spotted the grey, spiralling concrete double doors that would lead them back into the castle and away from this mess.
"Sirius!" She shouted over to him, his expression more focused than she’d ever seen it. "This way!"
He followed her gaze and nodded. They sped off towards the door, speeding up as fast as the brooms could take them.
'Alohomora!' Y/N pointed her wand at the door, sighing in relief as the doors swung open and the two of them fell through them, pushing the doors shut as quick as they possibly could.
We sat there for a few minutes just breathing heavily. Y/N clothes were torn, her heart pounding into her throat.
"So... Do you have a place to be or something?" Sirius wondered out loud, turning towards Y/N, also panting heavily.
"Shit,” Y/N gasped out a breath, checking her watch and swearing loudly, the sound echoing across the corridor. She was ten minutes late.
"We may need to hurry," Y/N groaned, picking herself up and grabbing the broomstick and pulling her leg over it once more. “Ready to dive?”
Sirius nodded, his lip curling into a mischievous smile. At least the one thing Y/N could count on was Sirius’ always being willing to do the stupidest of ideas. They pushed off the ground, Y/N’s foot giving a very uncomfortable twinge as she put her weight on it, and began zooming down the corridor and towards the staircase.
“Here we go!” Sirius called out as they saw the dive. Y/N steeled herself, taking in a deep breath and dipping her broom. The staircases were moving constantly, Y/N moving her broom alongside them, dodging the bannisters as they moved close and closer to the ground floor. Sirius flicked his wand and the front doors to the castle boomed open with enough room for them to slip through and zoom into the grounds.
There was a large tent standing in the middle of the grounds, large groups of people cheering loudly in a set of stands beside it. They flew towards the tent, braking suddenly as they reached it, wanting to avoid potentially injuring anyone. Y/N saw the circle she started in and moved over towards it, placing a hand in it. It shone brightly as she put it there and she heaved a sigh of relief.
Only Simon, from Beauxbatons was there already, sitting on his bed and chatting intensely to his headmistress. Y/N realised she had gripped a tight hand around Sirius’ and quickly let go, her cheeks blushing furiously.
Thankfully Dumbledore arrived seconds after, clasping his hands together when he saw them.
"Well, well! Our second champion has arrived!" He smiled broadly at me, his bright blue eyes twinkling. "Firstly, you need to get checked out by the nurse- yes you too Mr Black- and then come back here before we announce the scores to the rest of the school."
Sirius and Y/N nodded once before retreating back to where they came from and heading over to Madame Pomfrey’s tent about fifty metres away.
Y/N smiled when she walked in and Pomfrey gave a tight smile in return before giving her a once over and tutting softly. She then turned to Sirius and did the same thing.
"Ah Miss, I know I look perfect" he smirked, his dirty face saying otherwise.
"Mr Black, I would appreciate it if you let me do my job as I will not hesitate to take away one of your arms. And Y/N, come over here, you've just got a few cuts and bruises, your ankle looks a little swollen..."
Y/N let Madame Pomfrey lead her over to a bed and began to feel the adrenaline that was coursing through her began to fade and the aches across her body began to pound. Madame Pomfrey dabbed at her face and bandage legs as Y/N counted the number of bars across the ceiling.
"Y/N, we can go," Y/N jolted up suddenly and Sirius chuckled at her shocked expression. She swung her legs over the bed to stand up.
"Holy mother of Me-" Y/N started, grasping onto the edge of the bed as sharp pain shot up the side of her right leg. Y/N took a deep breath and took all of her weight off it, feeling like she was about to hop.
"Yeah, Madame Pomfrey mentioned something about your ankle... I think the tendon has torn she put some cream on it so it isn't swollen but she said something about one of the champions having a gash in the side of their stomach..." he trailed off, smiling sheepishly at Y/N’s glare.
"And you couldn't have told me that about a second before I got up!?" Y/N hissed at him, causing the few people that were in the tent look over at them curiously.
“I was about too but you were too fast... look just use these, we have to get back to the champions tent." He handed Y/N a pair of crutches and she silently cursed Madame Pomfrey for not just healing the damn thing as she leaned over them and felt her back hunch uncomfortably.
Y/N followed Sirius out of the medical tent and into the champions. There was now a small crowd, including the four other champions and hostages, the judges and teachers from the different schools. Dumbledore greeted them when they returned.
"Good to see our Hogwarts champion in good form. We are just about to announce results!" Dumbledore smiled at her, clapping her on the back a little hard.
"Yeah, ok," Y/N replied half-heartedly, her heart starting to race again. Y/N wasn't sure if she really wanted to hear the results.
"You'll do fine" Sirius whispered to her, following behind as they started the short trek up to the castle. Y/N gave him a small smile.
"Hey Sirius, a question?"
"Anything,” He kept his eyes forward, walking slowly alongside her awkward crutching.
"What are you most scared of?" Y/N questioned him. He looked at her with an odd expression, his deep grey eyes staring into hers.
"The ones I love dying," he replied, suddenly looking down. Her heart skipped a beat.
Y/N’s brain flashed back to the fresh memory of Sirius tensing at the sight of what the boggart had taken form.
Y/N’s blood-soaked body.
Without giving it another thought, Y/N grabbed Sirius’ wrist and spun him towards her, kissing him square on the mouth, her crutches falling to the side and making her lift her leg awkwardly. He seemed to freeze momentarily before kissing her back, pulling her in towards him with such fervour Y/N forgot she was standing in front of many teachers.
They pulled apart, breathless and grinning at each other, Y/N leaning on his side. He sniggered as she jumped sideways, but picked up her crutches for her, slipping them under her arms softly. He stayed close to Y/N momentarily, watching her.
“Glad to know it’s not just my boggart.” He said finally, standing upright.
“Oh, mine is actually a giant snake.” Y/N teased, grinning at him as the call for the results came through the speakers surrounding them.
“Shut up, Y/L/N.” Sirius rolled his eyes but went back to her side, helping her up to the judges. He slipped a hand along Y/N’s waist and held it against the small in her back.

Summary: Greatness from small beginnings, or is that the other franchise? Anyway on a whim a decided to pick up the remake of Lara Crofts original outing in the lead up to Shadow. Let’s see if what lies within this tomb is worth salvaging.
Overall: Despite being an episodic remake of a game from the mid 90s released 11 years ago, Tomb Raider Anniversary feels incredibly modern. If you’ve yet to experience Lara Croft’s original adventure than this is a fine way to do so.
Controls: One thing all early 3D PS1 games suffer from is awkward controls. Luckily Tomb Raider Anniversary doesn’t feel old or clunky at all, mostly. In a world post Uncharted 4 the rope swinging is dated, but it’s fine. You can also go into an over the shoulder aiming mode that locks you in place, which is a weird option I never used outside one late game puzzle.
Outside that controls are pretty simple. You have a jump button (A), a crouch and dive button (B), an interact button (Y), and a grappling hook button (X). These are all mapped to the face buttons while Lara’s guns are mapped to the d-pad and shoulder buttons. Up and down on the d-pad use large and small med-kits respectively. Left and right cycle guns once you’ve unlocked more than one. The left trigger locks Lara’s aim while held and the right tigger shoots. While locked in you can switch targets using the right analog stick. Oh an of course movement is handled with the left stick and the camera with the right. You can center the camera with LB and holding RB makes Lara walk instead of run when moving. It’s also a manual ledge grab if you turn that option on.
Obviously the analog sticks weren’t a thing when the original game came out, but these controls still feel incredibly modern even in 2018. I do find it interesting how complicated the shooting controls are compared to the platforming ones as combat is a rather small part of the game. Once I learned that this remake was built as DLC for another Tomb Raider game, it became a bit more clear why. I’ll check out that game at some point, but for now it’s still a point of interest.
One thing I know wasn’t in the original was quick time events. There are only a handful of them in the game and while they’re dumb, even on Hard the game slows down and gives you time to press the buttons. It’s the one part of this game that feels dated.
Story: Alright. Maybe the story is dated too. Even before the reboot Lara has serious daddy issues. The plot is set off by Lara being randomly contacted by an organization who have figured out a clue or something that is involved in some relic hunt her daddy was working on. If it isn’t obvious from the onset it turns out by the end of mission one they are an evil organization and Lara sets off to collect the set of artifacts before they can. You can pretty much predict the plot from there.
The story follows Lara as she raids three different tombs before her adventure culminates in one final tomb. The story is only really told in between missions or super early or late in them. The exception being the final tomb where the story is pretty much all backloaded.
Puzzle Platforming: Alright maybe these are dated too. Or revolutionary. With remakes it’s hard to tell. Despite the large amount of buttons used for combat, the primary series of game play interactions is climbing and solving puzzles. Climbing is very much like Assassin’s Creed prior to Unity. Imagine a game made up almost exclusively of those puzzle chambers from Assassin’s Creed 2 that unlocked Altiar’s armor. You’ll jump and scramble up ledges along with an plenty of shimmying. You’ll swing on poles and use your trusty grappling hook to pull blocks and traverse dizzying heights.
While early on things are pretty straight forward, by the second tomb things are a lot more complicated. Each of the four tombs multiple sections are a labyrinth of tunnels and puzzles to solve. Well those are the more memorable ones. Some sections are more linear in design, but they’re still filled with some puzzles.
I guess I should note that I played on Xbox One via 360 backwards compatibility. I say this as I’m not sure if some of the glitches I encountered were a result of playing this way or were part of the game itself. Occasionally grapple points wouldn’t work, rising platforms would launch Lara into the air, and in one situation Lara managed to grab a ledge in a platform and I had to reload a save. Overall these issues were uncommon to say the least. If one issue prevailed throughout the experience it was the camera not being super cooperative. The camera is prone to clipping through geometry and just not working as you’d like it to.
Some glitches worked in my favor however. Particularly the air walking glitch for one of the time trials. What should have taken approximately 13 minutes took under 2. Shame that glitch wasn’t in the one with a par time of 35 minutes.
Combat: Combat is based entirely around shooting and dodging. You can in most cases just shoot repeatedly and dodge to finish off foes, but if you want to do this faster you can shoot one foe enough to send them into rage mode. When this happens they’ll charge at you and if you dodge at the right time and follow up with a well timed shot you can pull off a headshot to quickly finish them.
In the game’s boss fights these rage mode segments are required. The headshot in this case won’t be an instant finish, but it will let you progress the fight be it by being able to cause damage or by opening up a way to be able to cause damage. My favorite instant of this is in the boss fight in Greece as you need to use more than just bullets to get by, but some brains as well.
Combat isn’t something I’d call a core part of this game. It helps to break up the puzzles, but outside the bosses the combat doesn’t feel meaningful or particularly fun. Late game enemy encounters are made more difficult by becoming more cheap. Enemies get faster and gain ranged attacks as opposed to changing tactics. Also the area in which you get to fight these foes shrinks while the numbers and hits required to beat them increases.
Time Trials: I’m not a fan of time trials. Mostly because I’m not actually that good at games. I just throw myself at the task repeatedly until I get it done. While time trials are all about that, they’re about that in a wider context. A time trial isn’t just getting from one checkpoint to the next, but doing all of them in a row fast and flawlessly. It’s more a perfectionist task than a completionist task. I generally settle for completing a task.
These time trials require flawless play and having memorized these levels, the puzzles, and their solutions. Time is super tight, well outside the trials for the final tomb. For whatever reason these ones are super generous on time. It also unlocks a cheat for an instant kill shotgun that will take out bosses and enemies in one hit. The great thing about cheats is that you can use them without blocking achievements so by running the time trials on these final missions first you can easily skip all combat segments later on. There are also a handful of glitches that can make things a whole lot easier too.
Achievements: Being a 2007 Xbox 360 game, it’s always interesting to take a look at the achievements and see how they were implemented in early 360 games. This game is even more interesting considering that these achievements are being added to a remake of a game that originally wasn’t built for achievements. It’s even more interesting because the remake itself was originally an episodic series of DLC for another Tomb Raider game. I wasn’t even aware of this until well after I beat the game.
Overall the break down here is solid. You have achievements for beating the game on easy, medium, and hard, with these stacking so you can grab them in one play-through. Not dying is also a super common thing here along with not failing any QTEs. Since reloading a save undoes the fact that you died or failed a QTE, you simply save at every checkpoint. You’ve also got your collectible achievements. One for nabbing everything in each Tomb. You also get achievements for beating the time trials for each tomb. There are also achievements tied to completing Lara’s Mansion and a time trial there as well. The cheats you unlock don’t disable the achievements at all so go nuts with them.
Overall considering this is a series of episodic DLC that remakes a game from years prior, I think the achievement list is pretty solid. The “don’t die” stuff is pretty lame, but considering the fact that you can save scum it’s not hateful. Time trials are the worst part in my opinion, but that’s a matter of preference.

Classic Sonic Levels Ranked: #60 - 56
I tried something new tonight and added videos I found on YouTube of each zone, and I’ve credited each person. If I can figure out how, I’ll add them to #69 - 61. Unfortunately Tumblr only lets you link five videos on one post, so I have to split these up more than I wanted to.
60. Mad Gear – Sonic 4: Episode 1
youtube
Video by Cyberman65
Mad Gear is a slightly less aggravating Metropolis, given a green paint job. For what it’s worth, there aren’t many cheap gimmicks compared to Sonic 4’s other levels, the infamous badniks are nerfed a bit, and there’s no lava. It is also much more quickly paced. There are, however, a lot of crushers, and each level feels very long. Act 3 is the only level designed around gimmicks: most of the level is made of chase sequences to escape from a giant crushing wall, similar to the one in Hydrocity. There are also smaller crushing walls everywhere, and tilting platforms that you actually have to tilt when Sonic curls up on them. The boss is one of the better ones. Like the other bosses in Sonic 4 Episode 1, it’s the same damn boss from the original zone. Deplete half of Eggman’s health though, and he escapes, forcing you to chase after him as he tosses gigantic Eggman balloons at you. It’s still not great but it’s something.
59. Collision Chaos – Sonic CD
youtube
Video by MegamanNG
CD’s second zone is a trippier Spring Yard, with much trippier level design. It isn’t bad, but it isn’t good either. It’s a very weird and tedious level that feels slapped together and where every bumper is placed to bounce you out of control. There really isn’t much to say about it other than that. The boss is also the most annoying in the game by a landslide, but like the other bosses in CD it’s at least a creative concept. Eggman sits atop a giant pinball table, and you merely need to make it up to the top, where you can just bonk him three times to end the fight. Getting up there though is a total pain. The spaces you can shoot Sonic through are all very narrow, and there’s a good chance that when you do finally get Sonic a little higher up, Eggman will shoot a ball down and bounce Sonic back down to square one.
58. The Moon – Sonic Advance
youtube
Video by Cyberman65
Sadly, the Super Sonic battle in Advance is a letdown. With that said, it’s at least creative. Unlike other Super Sonic fights, you fight Eggman’s Super Egg Robo on the moon, and are affected by its low gravity. This means you have to time your jumps and boost into the robot’s head. There are also no rings on the moon, and you have to boost through the boss’s Pac-Man looking capsules to release some. Unfortunately this doesn’t save it from being a dull battle. Neither the boss nor music has any energy whatsoever. Even the appearance of Super Sonic before he chases Eggman to the moon has no music. The whole thing feels like it was thrown in because they had to.
57. Death Egg mkII – Sonic 4: Episode 2
youtube
Video by Cyberman65
No more bad levels now, we’re firmly in OK territory now. Sonic 4’s final level is a pretty cool idea: a new Death Egg built around Little Planet. Like Sonic 2’s Death Egg, it’s basically just where you fight the final bosses. There’s a number of cool things here, the most immediately obvious one being the Mario Galaxy style gravity around almost every surface. Act 1 has some cool little sections built around this gimmick, and two boss fights: a somewhat annoying running battle against Eggman and Metal Sonic, and another race against Metal Sonic complete with a Stardust Speedway remix. This race is made incredibly easy with the Rolling Combo, but it’s a throwback that works thanks to the buildup it has. Act 2 is the final boss, one of the most creative in the series. Eggman sits in the (realistic) heart of the Death Egg, surrounded by three spinning rings that you have to run around and use to get closer to him. It’s a bit cheap to no-hit, but it makes great use of the 360 gravity gimmick and feels genuinely climactic.
56. Death Egg – Sonic 2
youtube
0:41 speedrun by Werster
The final level of Sonic 2 is just two back to back bosses, with no rings. The first boss is Silver Sonic, a clunky mechanical Sonic. He’s honestly pretty easy and you can beat him while only letting him get one attack in, just mind the buzzsaw spines on the back of his head when you bounce on him. The second boss is a whole other story. The infamous Death Egg Robot is a screen filling robot who seems difficult to hit because of his spiky hands blocking his chest. His biggest weakness is his simple pattern: he’ll walk towards you a few steps, step backwards, rocket into the air to try to land on you, and then bend over to fire his rocket hands at you (if you’re behind him when he lands, he’ll fire bombs backwards instead). The safest time to hit him is whenever he bends over, but he can actually be shredded in seconds by jumping above his hands when he walks. This is of course very risky considering you have no rings and must go back to Silver Sonic when you die. These bosses are pretty fun and feel really climactic, but it would of course be better if they were balanced more around having rings. They’re too easy when you know their tricks, and too hard when you don’t.

Welcome to Cybertube
Chapter 1
[Alternate Ao3 Link]
I know a whole bunch of you have anticipated this moment. This is the day that the CyberTube Universe comes to light!
However, first you need to sit through Pewdiepie, Cryaotic, CinnamonToastKen, and TheRPGMinx figuring out this world and how it came about. I promise I will get to the others in the Sequel~
For now, sit back, and enjoy the world building of CyberTube. :D
You know the feeling when you sit on your legs too long and your feet go numb? That’s exactly what Felix’s whole body felt like right now.
The hype for Cybertube started from the moment it was announced. Who wouldn’t want to jump into a game and get the chance to play face to face with other players around the world? Of course, the creator contacted Felix to test the game. The technology was fairly new, and he wanted to make sure there were no bugs surrounding the program before he released it to the masses. And who better to playtest it than Pewdiepie himself.
Felix remembered struggling through reading the instructions, but if anything Ikea furniture taught him, it’s how to read vague instructions. The helmet was pretty lightweight, and it fit on his head like a motorcycle helmet. Long gloves connected onto his hands. It felt like an extensive VR game.
The logo popped up on the screen, and Felix felt a slight pinch in the back of his head. Then, he was floating through this dark mass.
And that’s exactly how he ended up where he was right now.
Felix’s hands felt heavy. He looked down and noticed two gloves pixelating on his fists. He flexed his fingers inside the glove and noticed a white “P” on the inside of the gloves. Huh, customized equipment. That was pretty cool. Felix remembered the programmer saying that a character’s weapon was given at the start of the game based on a short quiz. Of course, Felix’s character came completely customized for him, so no annoying quiz needed thankfully. He took enough of those in his past.
The darkness surrounding Felix melted away as blue cubic lines formed on the walls and ceiling.
“Welcome to Cybertube,” a computer voice spoke. “Before we begin, it’s important to go through orientation to make sure all equipment is in sync. Please, walk forward five steps.”
Felix rolled his eyes. Piece of cake. He took five steps forward, and the panel underneath him lit up. Felix nearly lost his balance as the cube flew up into the air. Cubes like it sprung up around him, forming a pathway.
“Jump forward.”
Felix looked over the edge of the cube. “Are you kidding me? I have to be at least three meters away and two stories up!”
He grumbled to himself as the computer voice repeated the objective. Felix backed up to the edge of the cube and took in a deep breath. He squeezed his eyes shut as he jumped forward.
Felix’s shoes caught on the side of the cube, and he fell forward. His body slid across the cube. His head reached the edge. Felix dug his hands and feet into the cube’s surface. He stared down at the ground below him and jumped backward. The cube shifted underneath his weight, and Felix’s heart leapt into his throat.
“Good. Continue forward until you reach the end.” A golden door appeared at the last cube, almost 10 cubes away.
“No fucking way. I almost died!” Felix yelled back. He knew it was just a game, but that was the most real thing he ever felt in his life. Would he be hurt in real life if he got hurt here? He almost didn’t want to find out.
The computer repeated itself, and Felix stood up. He groaned. Either he went forward and did what it said or he sat on the cube for an eternity.
Felix ran forward again, but this time, he kept his eyes open. His feet landed on the cube and slid forward a bit. He held up his hands to help balance himself. As Felix looked down, he realized he landed square in the middle.
Huh, that wasn’t so bad.
Jump by jump, Felix made his way across the cubic bridge. He wondered if gaming physics applied here, where the character could jump three times the normal length they should be able to. The shockwaves of his feet hitting the block felt real. He could feel the wind passing through his hair and the gravity pulling him onto the next block.
Felix finally reached the last block. The golden door glowed onto his hand as he reached out for it. He grabbed the round doorknob and twisted. As he opened the door, a blinding light hit his face. He squinted through the pain and opened the door as far as it would go.
The chattering of people reached through the light. Felix blinked his eyes open and saw he was in a small town of some sort. People bustled about and chatted to one another. He could smell pies and bread baking. The sun warmed his skin, and he heard birds tweet as their wings flapped overhead.
Felix walked into the town and closed the door behind him. He stood in the middle of a square covered in dirt roads and fenced in by pasty brick houses. As he turned to get a 360 view of the game, he noticed the door disappeared.
Wait, were his pants vibrating?
Felix dug into the pocket of his pants and pulled out a blue cell phone looking device. It had the CyberTube logo with a blue circle orbiting around it written on the screen.
A face appeared on the screen; their red lips curled up into a smile. Felix noted how fierce their bright blue eyes looked against their brown skin.
“Welcome to Cybertube,” the avatar spoke. “Before you begin playing, I’d like to run you through how to use your TubePad.”
Felix raised an eyebrow, but continued listening. A menu appeared on the screen with several words highlighted blue against black boxes. The first word, “Map,” lit up in bright pink letters.
He heard the avatar’s voice through the speakers. “Click here if you wish to locate yourself within the world of CyberTube.” The screen faded to a map. Felix noted a yellow star in the middle of the map. It was right underneath the word “CyberTown.” There were a few other areas on the screen, but before Felix could get a good look at them, the map faded away.
The second word, “Team,” lit up in pink. The voice continued, “Here is where you can see all the statistics of your teammates. As you can see, you are the only current member. To add a player, click the “add member” button in the bottom right of the screen and type in their username.”
A white bar highlighted his personal information on the screen. Felix noted his avatar was in a square box beside the information.
A green HP bar, followed by 100/100 stretched across the screen. “When your HP depletes to 0, you will be asked if you wish to log out or continue the game. Those who choose “Continue” will be transported back to your team’s base for healing.”
Below was a blue bar, labeled PP and followed by another 100/100. “The blue bar is your Power Points. When your Power Points reach 0, your weapon will no longer work. Each weapon will be recharged at the end of one Cyber Day. If your weapon runs out before the end of the day, charging stations are located in several areas throughout the game.”
Felix wanted to absorb all the information that was handed to him, but the screen changed again. The third word, labeled “Nearby Viruses” lit up.
“This option allows you to see Viruses surrounding your area. Viruses differ between areas and are ranked from a 1-4 star difficulty.” Felix wanted to know more, but again, the screen shifted.
The fourth word, “Objectives,” turned pink. “Every Cyber Week, a new objective will appear. This can range from liberating a player’s camp from a virus infestation to defeating a new boss terrorizing an area. No one is forced to complete the objective, but you will be awarded CyberPoints for participating.”
‘The hell are Cyber Points?’ Felix thought, and the screen moved on.
The fifth word, “Help,” lit up. “Click here if you need a refresher on basic rules or wish to ask the creator a question.”
Then finally, the last word lit up. “Click here if you wish to leave CyberTube and return to the real world.” The screen faded back to the avatar, and Felix felt a lump form in his stomach. “This completes your orientation on your TubePad. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and welcome to CyberTube.” The device played a little melody before turning off.
“Yeah, I have a lot of important fucking questions,” Felix yelled. A few people turned to look at him but went back about their business. He grumbled under his breath and tried to process what… whoever that was spouted off to him.
Why didn’t it tell him something useful, like how to use his weapon? What did the Virus characters look like? He saw a few through the game trailer, but if there really was an abundance of Virus characters, shouldn’t there be a database where you could look up information on a certain Virus.
“Maybe it’s like a Poke’dex,” he mumbled. Felix looked around for any sort of familiar faces. No one acknowledged he was there. So, he started walking.
The town had a few trees lining the streets, and every once and awhile, he’d hear a stock dog bark sound. The sky looked like a clear summer day.
Felix pulled out his TubePad and clicked on the “Objective” tab. Nothing came up on the screen. He gripped the device in his palm and looked around.
“What am I supposed to be doing here?” he groaned through his teeth.
“You could look for someone to talk to.”
Felix jumped as a familiar deep voice spoke behind him. He turned and saw a white masked man with a hand on his hip.
“Cry! Thank god, a familiar face,” Felix ran over to his friend. “I finally get to meet you in person… well sort of.”
Cry laughed. “Probably the only time you ever will.” Cry looked around and whistled. “Hard to believe this is all a game, right?”
“I know. It all feels so real.”
Cry looked down and lifted up one of Felix’s gloves. “These are cool. Are these your weapons?”
“I guess so. No one told me anything about how to fight in this game!” Felix yelled up at the sky.
Cry laughed. “Dude, didn’t it tell you there’s a training ground in the town?”
Felix blinked. When did he miss that part? Cry motioned for Felix to follow him, and Felix complied. The two walked side by side through the square.
“You know, you’re the last one to show up here. We’ve been waiting for you.”
“We?”
“Yeah. Me, Minx, and Ken. Did you have problems setting up the game or something? I thought you were good at that kind of vague directions shit.”
Felix gave a dry laugh. “We only just talked about this 10 minutes ago… or at least 10 minutes since I logged in.” How long was he in this game anyway?
“Well, whatever man. We’re here anyway.”
Felix looked up at a tall building with tan bricks. It must’ve been about four stories high. Cry walked over to the large metal doors, and they slid apart. Felix followed close behind.
A mechanical bee looking machine soared toward his face. Felix cried out and braced himself for impact. The bee burst into a cluster of blue pixels.
“Sorry!” He heard Ken yell out. Felix caught his breath and then smiled. How did he know Ken’s avatar would have his faithful bear hat on?
“Too bad your aim isn’t that good when playing normal games,” a British voice replied. Felix looked up as a girl with brown hair and a purple streak jumped down from the boxes.
“You’re hilarious,” Ken responded with a neutral expression.
“Minx?” Felix watched the girl turn to look at him and smile.
“The one and only,” she responded and crossed her arms. “I guess this is the only time I’ll ever get to meet you, even if we live in the same country.”
Felix opened his mouth to speak, but a swarm of bees formed behind them. Ken and Minx turned.
“Guess we’ll have to introduce ourselves later,” Cry spoke. “I’m running low on PP, so you guys can handle this stuff.” He pushed Felix toward the center of the training arena. With a quick “later” and a salute, he disappeared out the double doors.
Felix ducked as a bee flew right at his head. He looked over toward Minx. Her body started to wobble before disappearing completely.
It seemed like Minx’s assassin skills just got deadlier.
“Behind you!” Ken yelled out. He ran at Felix and retracted his fist. Felix ducked as Ken’s hand crashed into the bee. It flew across the room and smacked against the wall.
Felix looked at Ken, his mouth wide open. Ken smirked and flexed his arm muscles. “I got enhanced strength from the game. Pretty cool, right?”
Two bees that flew at them crashed to the ground. The area in front of them wobbled as Minx reappeared.
“I should've let them kill you.”
“But you love me.”
Minx quirked an eyebrow at Ken, and she looked over at Felix. “Well don’t just stand there with your mouth open. Go let loose.”
Felix looked down at his hands. He clenched them into fists and watched the bees swarm around them. “Only, I don’t know what the fuck my power is.”
“You think we did?” Ken chuckled. “This game is bad at telling you about your abilities.”
“Well you better figure it out quick,” Minx said as she stood up. Felix turned as a swarm of angry bees flew at them. He looked down at his fists and waited until one got up close. Mimicking Ken, he pulled his hand back and smacked into one of the robotic bees. The bee staggered backward a bit, but didn’t seem too affected by it.
Another bee flew towards him, and Felix barely missed it’s stinger. He punched forward again, but it still had little effect on them. As he turned, he saw a whole swarm flying toward him. Felix screamed and started running in the opposite direction.
Minx laughed as Ken called out, “You got this, Felix. Be the bee.”
“I could use some help here!” Felix yelled. The swarm continued after him. He slid to a halt as he reached the other side of the wall. Ken took a step forward to help, but Minx put a hand on his shoulder. He turned to look at her, and she winked.
Felix turned to see the buzzing cloud of death closing in on him. He swore his heart stopped. The cloud dove toward him. Felix used all his strength to duck down.
His fists connected with the ground. There was a loud boom, and Felix watched a blue wave of sound fly from his gloves. The wave spread out in all directions, knocking over nearby boxes, popping a few light bulbs, and pixelating the whole swarm of bees in front of him. Felix watched the blue wave disappear, and the whole room grew silent.
What… did he just do?
“You alright?” Ken asked as he and Minx ran up to him. Felix stood up on shaky legs.
“Thanks for the help,” he spoke, though his cracking voice hardly conveyed his sarcasm.
“That was probably the second coolest thing I’ve seen yet,” Minx said. She patted Felix on the back.
Felix looked over at her, then back to his gloves. The blue rings between his knuckles were glowing, and he felt a slight tingle in his hands.
“Arena damage detected. All players are to evacuate until further repairs can be completed.”
Ken laughed. “Way to break the game.”
“I’m sorry, okay! I panicked.” Felix watched Ken smile then mimicked it.
“Come on. We should probably meet up with Cry. He’ll want to know about this.” Minx began to walk out of the room, followed by Ken. Felix followed behind. He turned his gloves over and over, examining every detail. His eyes rested on the white “P” in the middle, well now a mostly white “P” since the top had a black line through it now. He pulled out his TubePad and pulled up his player stats. The PP bar read 90/100. Well, at least he wouldn’t have to keep pulling out his TubePad if he wanted to know how much power he had left.
The doors to the training arena opened, and Felix squinted at the swift change of strong light.
“Are you guys done already?” Cry asked as he came over to the doors. “I was just about to join you.”
Ken answered, “Thunder fists over here broke the game.”
“Not on purpose!” Felix barked back.
“It doesn’t matter now,” Minx spoke. She turned to Cry and continued, “though you did miss an interesting battle.”
“What a shame,” Cry said as he clicked his tongue. “I guess I’ll just have to wait until next time to show off.”
“Well, our abilities should work even if there aren't Viruses around, right?” Ken asked. He turned to face Minx, but she was gone. Ken felt a tap on his shoulder and turned, but no one was there.
“I’m going to say that's a yes,” Cry said as Minx reappeared beside him. She flashed Ken a smile. “So, thunder fists huh?”
Felix felt his cheeks warm. “Well, I don't really know what happened. One minute I was standing, the next my hand slammed on the ground and all those things were gone.”
“You mean the trackers?” Cry asked and raised a brow.
“Trackers?” Felix repeated. Ken brought out his TubePad, which Felix noted was red, and showed him the Virus index. There were two pictures that appeared, the bee looking things from the training ground and another one which looked like a cat of some sort. Ken pushed the bee’s picture, and Felix read the text beneath it.
Trackers Level: 1 star Area: CyberTown Attacks: Poison Stingers Description: An aerodynamic Virus with a poison stinger. Harmless in singles. Deadly in numbers. Number Killed: 52
Felix looked up at Ken after reading, and Ken turned off his TubePad. Felix pulled out his own TubePad, and sure enough, there was an entry for Trackers in his Virus inventory. Only, his number killed read “15.”
Cry peeked over his shoulder. “Was that all from one blow?” Felix nodded, and Cry whistled. “Well, I know who I’m not messing with.”
Felix raised a brow. “So, what’s your power?” He saw Ken and Minx look at each other and smile, and Cry chuckled.
Cry flung the palm of his hand in front of Felix’s face. Felix watched Cry’s hand carefully, noting how Cry flexed his fingers and how concentrated he looked. The wind blew his hair a bit, and Felix looked up at Cry’s mask and back to Cry’s hand.
Cry’s shoulders started to shake, and he soon burst out laughing. Felix looked up at Cry’s mask, and Minx and Ken started to laugh too.
Felix’s cheeks burned and he folded his arms. “What was that about?” A heavy weight pressed down on his shoulder, and Felix looked to his left. Two hollow eyes looked at him, and a creepy smile spread across a white face.
Felix cursed in Swedish as he pushed the armless being off him. The little marshmallow rolled down his arm and squeaked as it hit the ground on its back. It sat up, shook its head from side to side, and blinked a bit. It then looked up at Felix again, its smile spreading back on his face.
“It’s just a Sup Guy,” Cry spoke. The little Sup Guy ran over to Felix’s side and rubbed up against his leg. “And it likes you.”
“How did you figure out you could do that?” Felix asked.
“I didn’t. I asked the ‘help’ section, because it said I was supposed to get a weapon. Well, I didn’t. And it told me some people get summoning abilities.”
“I had to do the same,” Minx added. “It said some might also get physical abilities to aid them in battle.” She flashed one of the knives on her belt. “Doesn’t mean I didn’t get a weapon though.”
“As if I wasn’t terrified of you enough already,” Felix mumbled.
Ken stretched his arms up toward the sky. “So, now that the training ground is kinda broke-” he heard Felix mutter under his breath, “what should we do now?”
Cry shrugged. “We could go exploring.”
Minx looked up at the sky. “Actually, I do believe it’s getting dark.”
“Is there an inn around here we can stay at?” Felix asked.
Ken scratched his beard. “I’m not sure, but I don’t want to waste any CyberPoints on an Inn the first night.”
“Yeah, what are those?” Felix asked.
“Didn’t you listen to anything your TubePad explained?” Minx asked.
Felix was about to reply, but Cry interrupted, “When you beat a Virus, you get CyberPoints, which is like the currency around here. You can upgrade your weapons, stay at the inn at night, or buy health potions and whatnot. You know, kind of like an RPG game.”
“Thank you, Cry, for actually being helpful,” Felix said. “We can all meet back here some other time.”
Ken nodded and looked down at his TubePad. “Mary is expecting me home for dinner anyway, and since time is all screwy here, I don’t know how long we’ve been in game.”
“Go, and say hello to her for me, would you?” Minx added. She pulled out her own TubePad and scrolled down to the “logout” option. “See you all on Skype.”
“Later,” Cry spoke.
Felix watched his friends pixelate before disappearing one by one. He looked down at his own TubePad, the blue letters glaring back at him. He pushed the button.
The tingling feeling from before spread across his whole body. He watched his limbs start to pixelate before the whole world around him faded away.
When he opened his eyes back up, he lifted the helmet off his face, now awake in the real world. Felix heard the Skype conversation between his friends chirping.
Cryaotic: that was epic! ToastyKen: you’re telling me. Everyone make it bak ok? ToastyKen: *back RPGMinx: I did~
Felix typed in a quick message to let them know he was home safe as well.
Cryaotic: So, tomorrow around 9ish? RPG Minx: You mean 2 right? Cryaotic: Timezones man ToastyKen: I’m all for it Peeeewdiepie: Sounds good. Later bros

RWBY Volume 4 Episode 6
This was probably the first episode this volume/season that I thought showed some promise. It wasn’t great in comparison to previous volumes, but it did what it needed to do and is perhaps the best episode of this season so far. The scenes with Weiss at the party continued to show the consequences of the fall of Vale and how at least one particular part of society is brushing it off. The fight between Tyrian, the crazy laughter guy, and RNJR got a little weird but for the most part everyone is acting consistent with what we know about the characters and that’s the bare minimum of what I’ve wanted this season.
Schnee Dinner Party
Amongst all of Team RWBY, Weiss seems to be acting in the most consistent manner with what we know about her character. She goes along initially with the plan to perform at her father’s benefit possibly as a means to keep the peace at home. The benefit concert will hopefully lead to restored faith in the Schnee Dust Company, continued profits for her father, and credit cards that don’t get declined for Weiss. Weiss asks in Episode 2 if he’s asking her or telling her to sing at the benefit and her father’s reply is that it would make a lot of people happy. She clearly is not excited to be a public relations tool, but thinks it’s best to play along for now.
Her song, not surprisingly claims that she won’t be held by riches, she won’t surrender, and that “this life is mine”. That all falls into line with what we’ve seen from Weiss before in “It’s My Turn” and her actions in general in the preceding episodes.
Volume 1 Episode 2
Blake: “The same company infamous for its controversial labor forces and questionable business partners.”
Weiss: “How dare you!”
Volume 4 Episode 6
Jacques: “We offer our Faunus the exact same wages as the rest of our mining staff. Their argument is completely invalid right out of the gate”
Weiss: *sighs*
We already knew that Weiss has grown, but this scene with her father definitely reinforces it.
When some random dude shows up and doesn’t have a clue that he’s at a benefit for the victims of the fall of Beacon, she understandably gets angry at him and tells him to leave. She seems to reach her “tipping point” to borrow the episode’s title, when she hears another couple talk about how Beacon deserved it because they didn’t beef up their defenses. She accidentally summons a creature that is then taken down by General Ironwood.
After presumably watching innocent civilians die, presumably because it’s not explicitly shown on screen, and having two other acquaintances die, any one would rightfully be upset with the implication that they deserved it. It’s also great that this emotional outburst caused her to trigger her summoning power because this is what we’ve seen on previous occasions of emotional distress.
The scene had a consistent tone and everyone acted consistent with their previous behavior. There were no jokes to break up the tension and indeed humor in this scene is portrayed negatively as Jacques jokes with the fellow guests and Weiss reacts with disgust.
I’m really looking forward to the next piece of Weiss’s story where her father either asks or forces her to control her emotional outbursts by training with her glyphs, which is alluded to in the opening. Jacques demanding it would fall in line with his desire to keep up appearances that everything is fine with the family and everything is fine with the company.
The show, in my opinion, still hasn’t dealt enough with the consequences of the fall of Beacon, both practically what it means for the rest of Remnant and emotionally for the characters. This scene is thankfully able to do both at the same time.
Tyrian vs RNJR
Tyrian’s laughter was one of the first things that mildly annoyed me about the character and of course it’s full force here. Thankfully, it feels appropriate or at least is a little easier to understand why he is laughing, compared with Episode 5 where I wasn’t sure what the joke was.
At one point he laughs when Ruby hits Nora with a lightning shot because he thinks it’s going to be lot easier if the team is shooting each other.
Tyrian’s remark that “Well, you do interest me” while pointing to Jaune could be interpreted several ways. The most obvious being some connection to his aura potential or his connection to Pyrrha. But it’s also possible he’s referring to a romantic interest. Fans have wanted a confirmed LGBT character for some time, so they unfortunately may have to be satisfied for now with it being the craziest character we’ve seen yet. The creators have always said something like “It has to feel natural” and if this is what they feel is natural, I feel like they could’ve made any character gay. We don’t really know anything about the character so I don’t want to rush to any conclusions.
Tyrian vs RNJR Analysis
I almost felt like this battle was meant only to set up Qrow’s dramatic entrance with a triple replay of Tyrian’s attack being blocked by Qrow’s blade. Right before he shows up, the camera cuts to each of the fighters.
This seems like an odd choice of shots. From what I can see, besides maybe Ren and obviously Ruby, Nora and Jaune seem to be perfectly fine. Jaune is even standing straight up, almost as if he’s not hurt at all, and even closes his eyes so he doesn’t have to watch. So why are these conscious and seemingly healthy team members just looking on, or not looking in Jaune’s case, as this terrible thing is about to happen to their teammate?
I get that the purpose of the scene is to set up the reveal of Qrow and this happens all the time in shows and movies. Characters get beat up a bunch by the enemy and just when it looks like all hope is lost, the hero shows up to save the day. I’m totally fine with all of that, but it wasn’t executed as well as it could’ve been here.
Let’s look at the last set of hits that everyone takes besides Ruby.
Jaune appears to take a hit to his shield that pushes him back and then just stands there for the rest of the battle.
The last hit Nora takes is when Tyrian’s tail parries her hammer strike and she is thrown backwards. You can still see Jaune awkwardly standing there in the back.
Ren appears to take an attack from a phantom weapon as neither Tyrian’s fists, feet, or tail make physical contact with his body as far as I can tell. But even so he is thrown across the screen. This seems to be more of an animation error or I’m mistaking a reaction for him jumping away. It also seems like Nora and Ren are thrown in completely different directions, but because of the changing camera angles, I’m not going to try to argue that.
Ruby of course seems to struggle the most as she is the focus of the attack and the visual indication that her aura collapses clues us in that she is really in danger.
But neither at the first break when Ruby shoots Nora, nor at the second break when Tyrian is revealed to be a Faunus, do the other members of RNJR appear to be in any sort of dire situation. Visibly there doesn’t seem to be any cosmetic effects on their models indicating cuts, which admittedly hasn’t been done much before. They also don’t make any indication verbally or non-verbally that they are tired, low on energy, or really struggling to keep up. I will admit they take most of the hits in this battle and Tyrian’s tail seems to be super strong and resistant to damage.
I’m not saying they have to dramatically break someone’s arm like when Vegeta loses horribly to Android 18 in DBZ. But they have to do something more than just show a character takes a few hits because we don’t have any on-screen health bars to look at.
The problem is that RWBY has done this well in previous episodes.
When Ruby fights Cinder in high heels, it’s pretty clear that she is struggling to keep up as she wobbles all over the place. Even before this fight, she is shown to be uncomfortable in high heels and that discomfort plays a role later in this battle.
During and after the fall of Beacon, Weiss and the others show signs of exhaustion after fighting for so long.
General Ironwood actually does sustain considerable cosmetic damage to his outfit.
The harder the struggle, the better the payoff when the characters get rescued. At least to me, it didn’t seem like they struggled enough, so when Qrow comes in, the moment isn’t as triumphant or emotional as it could’ve been. As usual maybe they didn’t have the time or budget to model torn outfits or animate the characters in a fatigued state, but this seems like a pretty basic fight aspect to slack off on.
Interestingly, it appears the scene from the opening where Ruby is fighting Tyrian doesn’t appear in this fight, at least not the specific 360-kick parry against Ruby’s scythe. They usually try to reuse that animation so maybe the fight changed a lot from the original plan.
I get that this all sounds very picky. “Why are you going frame by frame looking for mistakes?” I didn’t explicitly go looking for issues, they really just stood out to me on my second viewing of this fight to look for screenshots of what I wanted. I’m not trying to hate and I understand animation is tough, but there’s substantial room for improvement and if we don’t acknowledge that, I feel like nothing is going to get better.
So it’s Episode 6 and this was the first decent episode. But to be at the halfway point and still be having these sort of technical issues? I’m not overly optimistic about the rest of this season. Is it going to take the whole volume for them to “find their footing” as fans keep saying? I kind of hoped they would’ve done that with the latter half of Volume 3 when they were essentially alone, but it seems they still need more time. It did take 4 episodes for me to warm up to Volume 2, but at the moment, I’m sticking around for Jeff Williams and Weiss.

Porto U19s 3-1 Chelsea U19s: Porto win the UEFA Youth League Final
Chelsea hopes to win a third UEFA Youth League title was interrupted by a streetwise Porto, who rightly won the crown for the first
The restorative forces of the Blues in this competition this season were exceptional, but Porto simply would not be injured in the Dinamo Zagreb and Barcelona were in earlier rounds. seems likely when Daishawn Redan closed Fabio Vieira & # 39; s opener early in the second half, but Porto simply kicked into another gear. Chelsea suddenly looked fragile. The Porto bank was emptied when Silva fired up three minutes earlier and did it again to celebrate the lead. Joao Mario jumped to the left of the room, his shot was blocked by Ziger and another shot at Mario & # 39; s left foot whistled past the far post.

Ebobisse: Portland would be "pleased to knock Seattle out of the playoffs"
div.video-js { width: 100% !important; height: 0 !important; overflow: hidden; position: relative; padding-top: 56.2%; }
November 7, 20182:41PM EST
Jeremy Ebobisse and the Portland Timbers have one thing on their minds: eliminating rival Seattle Sounders from the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs.
As the Timbers gear up from the second leg of their Western Conference Semifinals on Thursday (10:30 pm ET | FS1, FOX Deportes, TVAS, TSN), Ebobisse discussed the rivalry and how much it means to every player in the locker room.
“A lot of the guys are new to the rivalry, but they’ve learned quickly what this rivalry means to the club, city and the other players on the team,” Ebobisee told MLSsoccer.com on Tuesday. “Whenever we go out there to play Seattle it means a lot more to us. I think it shows with the intensity we play. If we can come out there with a win or even a draw, we’ll be really pleased to knock Seattle out of the playoffs.”
The Timbers beat the Sounders in the first leg of the series at Providence Park, taking a 2-1 aggregate lead to CenturyLink Field. The Sounders jumped out to a 1-0 lead, a nightmarish start for the Timbers. But Ebobisse leveled the game in the first half with a smart first-time finish and Sebastian Blanco scored the winner just 12 minutes later.
A 2-1 lead, conceding a valuable away goal, isn’t ideal for the team, but Ebobisse is more than pleased with the result.
“Would we have been happier with a clean sheet at home? Obviously. But our goal was to win at home,” Ebobisse said. “We got what we consider was a confident win. We thought the game was played on our terms. … We were able to get most of what we needed out of that home leg and we know it’s going to be a big fight at CenturyLink. We’ll be ready for the fight.”
Ebobisse’s equalizer was his fourth goal for the Timbers across all competitions this season, but he has yet to sort a go-to celebration yet. Or any celebration, really. But he doesn’t mind if you make fun of him for Sunday’s effort– A backward high-knees to arm flailing to 360 jump combo celly.
“Two months ago I said I hadn’t nailed one down yet, today I’m in the same exact position,” Ebobisse laughed. “I still haven’t figured out to do when I score. To be honest, I’m still not used to scoring these important goals so I definitely let the emotions get the best of me. It might look a little silly but I’m okay with people laughing at dumb celebrations because it means I scored.”
It’s all part of learning on the job.
He’s been an exponential ascendent over the last two months since he was handed his first start, and just second appearance, of the season. After scoring en route to an important 2-0 win over the Colorado Rapids on Sept. 8, Ebobisse knew, finally without a doubt, that he belonged.
“Throughout the course of the season there were little bits and moments where I felt like I belonged, but, I would say Colorado was a big ‘this is it. I’ve done it,'” Ebobisse said. “I proved to my coach that I can do it in a game that mattered. … To be able to have delivered, it was a really pleasing moment and something that changed my mindset to that I belong and I have something to offer at this level.”
Since? Ebobisse’s career has taken off.
He continued to start the majority of the Timbers’ stretch run as well as their first two playoff games while earning US men’s national team shouts.
I officially think #USMNT fans should be excited about Ebobisse. #PORvSEA
— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) November 4, 2018
It’s the opportunity he’s long been working towards.
“The season has been a roller coaster,” Ebobisse said. “Off my rookie year, I definitely had high expectations for myself this year. I didn’t quite meet them at the beginning, and definitely had some frustrations, but that goes with any young player’s career. I was able to go through to September where I got my opportunity. From that, it’s been pretty smooth sailing. For the most part, my performances have been good, so it’s a big weight off my shoulders to know that I could actually contribute at this level. It felt like a little bit of vindication for all the pressure and belief I have in myself.”
But Ebobisse knows this isn’t the peak; he’s still scaling the mountain.
“That said, I know I’m not even close to a finished product,” Ebobisse assured. “There’s a lot more that I need to contribute to the team if I want to hold down the starting position with all the competition that we have and to help propel this team to the Western Conference final and MLS Cup.”

Blown Leads, Bad Calls, and Great Defense: Ten Takeaways from the NFL’s Wild Card Weekend
Wild card weekend was.. decent, I guess? The games were entertaining, but the quality of play (and officiating) left something to be desired.
It began with a Saturday evening comeback that could instead be viewed as a horrendously blown lead. Atlanta got the road upset, the Saints hung on, and the Jags and Bills played one of the worst playoff games in recent memory, unless you really, really appreciate defense.
The Eagles get the Falcons this weekend, which I think most people agreed was the best possible matchup for Nick Foles and company. We’ll break that down in a separate post.
But if we’re looking for one overarching theme, I’d say that the Birds should feel good about their playoff chances, since I wasn’t overly impressed by what either NFC winner did this week.
Were you?
1) Situational football
The difference in the Atlanta/LA matchup was the Falcons’ smart game management and mix of plays. They controlled the ball for 37:35 while the NFL’s best offense only had it for 22:25.
The Falcons used 33 called running plays and 36 passing plays, three of which became sacks and three that turned into scrambles. When they did toss it, they kept it short, throwing for about four air yards per pass. It was a balanced output that took advantage of two Los Angeles special teams turnovers, allowing the Falcons to jump out to a 13-0 lead.
That was experience on display, with a #6 seed going on the road but showing the same smarts and savvy that took them to last year’s Super Bowl.
2) Dirty bird defense
Todd Gurley finished with 14 carries for 101 yards. Robert Woods had 9 receptions for 142 yards. Cooper Kupp grabbed 8 for 69 and a score. LA finished with 40 more yards than Atlanta.
But the Falcons won in other areas, limiting Gurley to four catches for just 10 yards, which was his third-lowest total on the season. Sammy Watkins had one snag for 28 yards. Combined, the pair mustered only 38 receiving yards on 14 total targets. That’s inefficiency right there, with just 14.6% Jared Goff’s yardage coming on 31% of his attempts.
The Rams went 5-14 on third down for a 35.7% success rate, well below the 41.1 number that placed them top-10 in the regular season. And they were just 1-3 on 4th down.
The Falcons have a smaller and faster defense that moves well in space and makes big plays. Defensive coordinator Marquand Manuel was a journeyman safety who played eight NFL seasons and worked as a Seattle assistant during the Legion of Boom era. He should start getting some national recognition for the job he’s doing in Atlanta.
3) Jared Goff
He’s a player. He’ll be around for a long time, leading a young team with a young coach that has talent on both sides of the ball. I think the turnovers put the Rams behind the eight ball, a squad with zero playoff experience, let alone playing from behind.
But even during the comeback attempt, he was throwing into some tight areas that would make Hall of Famers blush.
This was one of the best passes of the entire NFL weekend, with Goff stepping through the pocket on a third and 10 in his own territory:
DIME.
WOW, @JaredGoff16. #ATLvsLAR #LARams http://pic.twitter.com/vOXr6WKzdk
— NFL (@NFL) January 7, 2018
And a freeze frame, just for good measure:
Jared Goff fit this into the smallest possible window http://pic.twitter.com/wOz7xI9BC5
— SB Nation NFL (@SBNationNFL) January 7, 2018
Nick Foles would run backwards and sideways there and probably take a sack or throw it out of bounds.
4) Who dat?
Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram contributed 68 scrimmage yards and the Saints still won.
There was a first half surge where I thought New Orleans might blow Carolina out of the water, but that wasn’t the case at all. This game was closer than predicted.
Drew Brees picked up the slack through the air, going for 376 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception on a highly questionable 4th and 2 call at the end of the game. That was Sean Payton trying to ice it with about two minutes left, which almost backfired badly.
But the Saints’ defense forced an intentional grounding and finished with a sack on the Panthers’ final drive, doing enough to get the job done against a Carolina team that came in with a good game plan.
More than anything, I wasn’t floored by the New Orleans performance. I still think they’re a difficult matchup for the Eagles, but here’s a team that lost five games in 2017 and didn’t appear to be the well-oiled machine we’re used to seeing out there. Their trip to Minnesota is probably the best matchup of the divisional round.
5) Panthers and protocol
They started strong, then dropped a touchdown, missed a field goal, and quickly found themselves down 14-3.
Credit to Carolina though, I thought they might get clobbered, but they fought back to within a score and had a chance to win it at the end.
I think the division rival narrative was a little underplayed here. Sure, the Saints beat the Panthers twice in the regular season, but three wins against a team you see more frequently than others is somewhat difficult to pull off.
Cam Newton finished 24-40 for 349 yards and two touchdowns. There was an outcry from Twitter doctors after he appeared to play through a fourth-quarter concussion, but Newton said that wasn’t the case after this play:
Cam Newton just hit a brick wall. http://pic.twitter.com/wHc3VicfhF
— 360°FantasyFootball (@360FFB) January 8, 2018
Newton explained that he was poked in the eye, as the contact made his helmet come down over his forehead, and disputed the idea that he was concussed.
That seems to be contradicted by this video:
This "Cam Newton's visor poked him in the eye" is the greatest storyline in the history of sports. And I'm saying that as a former WWE wrestler. Watch the video, you don't collapse after that him because you need ice on your face. It's a #concussion. http://pic.twitter.com/fgsMiai3et
— Chris Nowinski, Ph.D. (@ChrisNowinski1) January 8, 2018
But that could also be embellishment to buy time for the backup quarterback to warm up on the sidelines, right?
I don’t know. I really don’t know. Newton looked pretty good on the field after that, and I’m just a guy sitting at home, watching on TV, so that’s how qualified I am to pass judgment here.
6) Terrible quarterback play
Buffalo vs. Jacksonville had the feeling of a 1 p.m. Week 3 game, with two of the NFL’s worst signal callers squaring off.
Tyrod Taylor finished 17-37 for 134 yards and an interception.
Blake Bortles was 12-23 for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Both were starting their first playoff game and both were pretty pitiful, but Bortles did some improvisational damage with 88 rushing yards on 10 attempts. That was probably the difference, as Jacksonville eventually found the red zone and scored on a one-yard, play action pass.
You could hear Tony Romo going through various stages of anguish having to call this game. Romo, who played in just six playoff games during his career, was assigned a Taylor/Bortles game in his first color commentary postseason gig.
Talk about rough:
7) Jacksonville Jag-wires
Of the remaining teams, they most resemble the Eagles, a squad with an excellent defense and suspect QB play.
They beat the Steelers 30-9 back in Week 5 on the strength of five interceptions. Jacksonville’s defense has held opponents to 10 or fewer points nine times this season. They are legit in every way.
Here’s a stat worth mentioning, courtesy of ESPN:
“Since drafting Ben Roethlisberger in 2004, the Steelers have a losing home record against two teams (including playoffs). Those teams are the Patriots (2-5)…..and the Jaguars (1-4).”
And those are the two squads the Steelers have to go through to get to the Super Bowl. Both won at Heinz Field this season.
I’d be stunned if Jacksonville does it again this weekend, but the box score and theme from that game wasn’t entirely dissimilar from what happened yesterday. Bortles was 8-14 for 95 yards and an interception. But the Jags’ ground game was working, and Leonard Fournette ripped off 181 yards and 2 touchdowns on 28 carries back in Week 5, while Pittsburgh did this:
Jax has proven they can win while Bortles plays like shit, so we’ll see if their defense can get it done for a second time this season in Pittsburgh.
8) The Bills Mafia
I respect the enthusiasm of a fan base that hadn’t been to the playoffs in forever.
And when you jump through flaming tables in the parking lot, that’s wild, too.
But when Bill Cowher does it during the pregame show, it’s probably dead:
Bill Cowher just joined #BillsMafia! http://pic.twitter.com/HHlAHKUML2
— Sports Illustrated (@SInow) January 7, 2018
Buffalo needs a franchise quarterback. I’m not sure who it is.
9) Marcus Mariota
Speaking of franchise quarterbacks, does that label apply to Marcus Mariota? He went 7-7 on third down in the second half against Kansas City, shaking off a poor first half and completing a 19-0 run to steal a win on the road.
Mariota’s first career playoff touchdown pass was thrown to himself:
Marcus Mariota just caught his own pass for a @Titans TD!!
Not a typo.#TitanUp #NFLPlayoffs http://pic.twitter.com/bDBVukfZuY
— NFL (@NFL) January 6, 2018
Gisele Bundchen once said, “My husband cannot fucking throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time,” which no longer holds true, apparently.
But in all seriousness, Mariota was impressive in the second half. He made some plays, Derrick Henry ran the ball like a beast, and the QB actually threw a great block on the clock-killing final drive:
10) Gotta do a better job
Andy Reid has now lost 13 playoff games.
He’s 1-7 in his last eight postseason games.
Saturday, his team blew an 18-point first half lead.
I’m not a guy who cheers against Andy. I appreciate what he did in Philadelphia, even if he never won the Super Bowl.
Yeah, Alex Smith could have made a few second half plays. Yeah, the drops hurt the offense. Yeah, Travis Kelce was sorely missed. And the defense was not the same in the 3rd and 4th quarters.
But when you’re winning by multiple scores and Kareem Hunt finishes with 11 carries, it’s indefensible.
Feel bad for Andy Reid. I mean, it's hard to get the ball to your running back when you're only leading by two scores for most of the game http://pic.twitter.com/QLnByqiydS
— Ryan McCrystal (@Ryan_McCrystal) January 7, 2018
Also, the worst call of the weekend (and there were many) took place during this game, when a Mariota fumble was somehow overturned because his “forward progress” was stopped during a sack.
If this isn’t a fumble, then 50% of NFL turnovers have been incorrectly ruled over the past 35 years:
Derrick Johnson crunches Mariota. Drive ends in a Tennessee field goal after a shoulda been fumble recovery by KC. http://pic.twitter.com/IRVAXar7sW
— Chiefs Kingdom (@__chiefskingdom) January 6, 2018
I don’t know how NFL officiating becomes progressively worse, year after year.

There are a few different ways to know if your children are having fun with a new video game. It could be the smiles on their faces, it also might be the sound of laughter coming from the room, but around my house I know we’ve got a good game on our hands when the kids are fighting over it. Yeah…I know, we’re not exactly The Cleavers.
Cars 3: Driven to Win is a new racing game based on this year’s hit movie from Disney/Pixar. It’s developed by Avalanche Software, a team some of you may be familiar with as the developers behind the Disney Infinity series. The game features over 20 playable racers from Lightning McQueen to Jackson Storm, and over 20 tracks featuring iconic locations that will be immediately familiar to fans of the films. As pretty much anyone with kids will be able to attest, these are some wildly popular movies among youngsters, so we were excited to jump into the game for our latest Family Game Night.
The game features several different modes of play, and we decided to start with the most basic Race mode. While the game may seem simplistic at first glance, there is a level of complexity to the controls that proved to be a challenge for the kids. There are three types of boost pads throughout the course, each of which can only be used if you drive over them in a certain way. On one you need to drift your way across it, on another you need to spin around and drive backwards over it (by pressing down on the right stick) and a third in which you need to balance your car on two wheels (pressing up on the right stick). You can also press left or right on the right analog stick to juke into your opponents. AND you can also pull off stunts when you go off of jumps to earn a little extra boost. If all of this sounds like a lot for tiny minds to be able to wrap their heads around… you’d be right.
Now of course you don’t NEED to use all of these complex controls to get through a race, but there’s enough difficulty in the game that not using your boosts to their full potential will leave you at a definite disadvantage. My girls went through multiple races and neither one of them could manage to do better than last place on the EASY difficulty level. Luckily the game features something called Playground mode, which allows them to drive around a track without any time limits or other racers to compete against, so the kids can just drive around and play and have fun.
You can also try out Battle Race if you want to add an extra layer of complexity to the races. These are essentially the same as a normal race, but with the addition of item blocks that you can drive into to give you a variety of offensive weapons to use against your opponents. All of these weapons were loads of fun to use and varied from heat seeking missiles to magnetic mines. I personally had a blast during these types of races and it became my go to mode for the game.
We were all very impressed with the tracks in the game as well, with environments that are varied, visually impressive (we played on the PS4) and offer plenty of short cuts. I may not be personally very familiar with the locations from the films, but I was excited to unlock each new track to see what they would have to offer. They managed to do a really good job of capturing not only the visual style of the movies, but the personality as well.
There are several other modes in the game to keep the entire family busy including Takedown which tasks you with using your arsenal to defeat as many opponents as you can within the allotted time, and Stunt Showcase which has you trying to rack up points by catching big air and flipping and spinning your way to victory. There is definitely plenty of variety in the game and players of all ages should be able to find a mode that suits their play style.
At the end of the night, we had all managed to find plenty of fun in Cars 3: Driven to Win. There’s certainly a bit of a learning curve and younger or more inexperienced players will be challenged, but I wouldn’t let that deter you from breaking it out on your family game night. If you love the Cars movies (and even if you don’t) I think this will be a big hit with the whole family.

Get Rid Of Police Helicopters
Find a divided road. Shortcuts work perfectly. When the helicopter is in front of you, it will follow the main road. It will not switch roads after it is on one. Go on the other road, and the helicopter will be gone.
Get The Police Off Your Tail
If you have one or two police chasing you, swerve around things such as incomming traffic, trees, poles, or any other immobilized objects. The police may not see it and crash into it. This gives you an advantage to lose them. If you are way ahead of the pack and do not feel like having a police on your tail, if your radar derector detects an incoming radar (no police), zoom on the road in front or you. See where the police are parked, and slam into the back of the car. It will be a Hit & Run, but the police car will be dead. You will not even get a yellow star.
Extra Points In Be The Cop Mode
Start you’re The Cop mode in Single player under the beginner difficulty setting. Select either the Crown Victoria or the BMW Z5 (the opponents are eisier to catch). Then, go to National Forest and catch the fourth and third cars. On the last two, hit the third one to make him lose control, then arrest the first place car. Immediately catch the second player that you forced to lose control to minimize the time to around 138, if done quickly enough. The procedure is quick but easy, giving you over 25,000 points if you throw in a couple of jumps. Then, restart and do it again.

Police Detection
When you are driving, be aware of the shadowed bar below the rearview mirror. It will start to climb with green and then red as you close in on a cop. If a cop is already chasing you and has issued a roadblock, watch the bar. If the strip started with yellow, it indicates that a road block is approaching.
No Police
If you drive backwards on any track you will not see any police.
Easy Arrests In Be-the-cop Mode
Do not turn on your sirens right away. Sneak up on them. When you are on them, turn on your sirens, spin them out, turn around, and hit them head on. This will result in a one hit bust every time.
Ferrari 360 Challenge
You must complete all events in Ultimate Racer and World Championship modes. Complete Bonus Event 31 for both to unlock Super Bonus Event 32. Either Event 32 in Ultimate Racer or World Championship modes will unlock the same car. Complete Event 32 successfully and the Ferrari 360 Challenge is yours.
Clean Race
There will be two objectives you will have to do to unlock two kinds of cars. These two involve clean racing. For a clean race, avoid hitting any object that inflicts damage on your car, such as hitting another car, a wall, etc. Hitting road signs, going offroad, or landing very hard on big jumps are excluded since those do not do any damage.
360 Powerslide
This trick is tough to pull off and will require some practice before using it in a race. Get to at least 80 mph. Press the Analog-stick backwards at an angle in the direction that you want to turn, so it is inverting your slide. As soon as you begin to turn, slam and hold the brakes. Force the Analog-stick sequentially around in an extreme circle. Release your brakes when you are about 75% through your turn. Slam your accelerator, and power yourself through the rest of the turn. At the end, it is recommended that you bank the car for a moment, because you do not want the it to fly out of control.

Police Check
If you have the Rear Mirror option on, you should see a meter (radar detection meter) at the bottom of it. If you do not see this meter, it indicates that there are no police in the current race. If you happen to see that meter at the bottom of your rear view mirror, be aware as there are law enforcers on that course.
Yellow Stars
On the upper-right corner of the screen are four star shadows. Each time you break a law or do something bad, you will get a yellow star. For example, a hit-and-run is two stars. If you get four yellow stars, you should beware of roadblocks, including the choppers.
Predict Police Actions
Turn the “Speech” option on high in the “Audio” screen when the police are on your tail, especially when police may be present on the race course. Be aware that the police may say something about roadblocks and where they are, as well as what they may try to do to end your speeding frenzy.
Desert Heat II Track
Complete Championship Event 25.
Calypso Coast Track
Complete Ultimate Racer Event 10.
Coastal Parklands Track
Complete Championship Event 4.
Slow Opponents Down
All of your opponents can be scared. If your opponents are directly besides you, suddenly steer towards them, as if you were trying to ram their car off the road. They will panic and veer away from your sudden move. If you are lucky, they may veer away too much, thus causing them to crash into an object, slowing them down. You can also do this to police that are on your tail. Another way to slow down opponents is to get behind their car and ram it 180 degrees from the bottom left or right of it. Note: This can also be done to cops.
Car Performance Vs. Cost
The McFarland F1 LM is not as fast as the regular McFarland F1. Also, the NFS versions of the cars are not faster than their regular versions, but cost more.
License Plate Number
Go into race or go to the showcase. In the race, switch to the near view; in the showcase zoom into the car from behind. The license plate will read “ND 4 SPD” (Need For Speed).
Ancient Ruins II Track
Complete Ultimate Racer Event 12.
Autumn Crossing II Track
Complete Ultimate Racer Event 14.
Autumn Crossing Track
Complete Ultimate Racer Event 17.
Calypso Coast II Track
Complete Ultimate Racer 26.

Extra Points
If you see a police car ahead, ram it to get him to chase you. Lose the police car and you will get extra points for a hit-and-run. Look for the dirt road shortcuts to lose the police and get ahead of other drivers. Also, choose to be the police in Hot Pursuit mode. You will get 25,000 points each time you complete one mini-mission.
Easy Way To Ditch The Cops
Get side by side with the cop. Then use you’rehandbrake and turn right to spin out the cop. After you see him start to spin turn right so you don’t spin out with him.
Handbrake Turns
Using the handbrake can be very helpful formaneuvering turns such as S-curves andswitchbacks. Use the handbrake at the apex ofthe curve and make sure you keep the nose of thecar pointed in the right direction. Be careful, this maneuver can be dificult to perform, and you can lose control of you car fairly easily, but using the handbrake can save you a lot of time on the turns.

Glitches
Glitch: German Showdown Tournament: Go Past Barrier
At the very bottom left side of Hot Pursuit mode is the German Showdown Tournament. In race 3/4, as soon as the start timer counts down, go backwards to the cement barrer. Go to the right side of the barricade (at the bottom), then press the car reset button (Z). If you were close enough, you should end up on the other side of the barrier. Turn around and go the other way. After you cross the gap on the map, your status will change to first place. Keep driving and you should find a huge unfinished “mountain”. Stay at the dead end and you will see your opponents flying through. Some how they have gotten through the blocked off bridge that appears later in the stage. To get out, go to the opposite part of the barrier and press Z. Note: this may require a few attempts.
Glitch: Disappearing Car
Choose single player mode, select two people, no cops, and traffic on. Go to the second level that is available from the start. You will find a tunnel. Go out of it. Make sure there is a van near you. Go straight out and you will see a hill-like object. Get player two to ram the van into the hill. When touching the hill, ram the van numerous times. The car will eventually disapear into the “hill”. To find it, have the second player ram you into the hill multiple times. You will eventually fade in there as well. You will both end up back in the tunnel.

Hints
Sucidal Zombies
On the “No Mercy” campaign, after you get everybody on the helicopter, the video will start. When it does look at the bottom right area of your screen. If you kill all the zombies, (if you can) it won’t work. If you don’t, you should see groups of zombies running after the helicopter only to fall off the roof. This principal also works with the “Death Toll” campaign. The only difference is that they will be running into the water.
Easy
First, go on “The Subway” on “No Mercy” on the Easy difficulty. Next, get the Pump-Action Shotgun, and proceed through the level until you get to the Witch;DO NOT take a different weapon until you kill the Witch. Finally, once you find the Witch, turn your flashlight off, walk up to her with your shotgun and while she’s getting up, aim at her head and. BOOM! You’ll get the “Cr0wned” achievement now. IMPORTANT NOTE:This may take several attempts to work properly, it took me about 4 times.
Choosing The Right Weapon
Choosing the right weapon can be complicated, but it can really help you in the end! For some Examples:
Hunting Rifle- Wide Open (no zombies charging), hallways (long closed areas
Auto Shotgun- close corners, also when zombies are charging
Machine Gun- charging enemies, and long distances, good for killing the tanks
This certain areas can use a particular weapon, make a good choice!
Get Away Tank
If you keep running you will not get found by the tank the only thing you watch out for is the smoker because they’ll grab you with there tong and you’ll need your teammate to help you so watch for them and do NOT stop RUNNING!
Taking Out Zombies Surrounding You
If you are playing one of the campaign’s early chapters, when you first get to pick your weapons for the first time choose the uzi and if you start getting attacked from all around (if you have your pistol or pistols out) take out your uzi and start firing at them (if they are the unplayable infected in multiplayer) start shooting and spinning until your clip is out and all of them or most of them will be dead (if all are not dead you may have to melee a couple times so you can reload. (this works 9 times out of 10.
Jesus Room
On the 5th level of No Mercy, go up the ladders and when you get to the top, look to the right. There should be a building with a ladder. Call the chopper and get to the top of the building. Zombies should break down the door and then you run inside. That’s how you can get an achievement. (Zombies can’t get you in here! ).
Infinite Pipe Bombs
When you see two or more pipe bombs in the same place, pick one up and throw it. After you throw it (gun still put away), hurry up and pick up another one. You can keep doing it! So, it’s like having infinite pipe bombs. This will also work with Molotovs.
Gas Station Safe Room Secret
I found this while me and my friend were trying to find a spot to hide from the tank. So we ran to the safe room if you go over by the weapons. Jump on the desk that has the weapons on it. Then look to the left. Jump on top of the water dispenser. And keep moving forward. You will fall in a hole behind the green boxes. Crouch back there. And it’s pretty easy to kill the tank. Just beware if you are playing on 1 player the tank will attempt to get back there. But if he stays on the outside and hits at the boxes you will be unharmed. I had to figure this out the hard way it was on expert.
Left 4 Dead Generator Room Safe Spot
When you get inside the generator room. Go to where you alert the horde then look to your left. There should be 2 giant light blue colored things with 1 circle on each of them. Jump on one of the circles then jump on top of the thing then look to the right there should be a little ledge run and jump on it and there you go just beware of smokers. I don’t know if this works on the pc.
Generator Room Secret
When you walk inside the generator room on no mercy. Walk straight to the fuse box. Then look to the left there should be two tank like things. Not the infected tank. But two giant oxygen tank looking things. With one circle on each of them jump one of the circle. Then jump on top of one of the tanks. Then go against the wall and look to the right. There should be a ledge run and jump on the ledge. ( NOTE ) you have to alert the horde before you get up there. Well you don’t have to but you can’t alert the horde from up there. Just beware of smokers. Happy killings.
Safe Place On No Mercy
On the Rooftop Finale of No Mercy, climb the last ladder to the roof. Head to the right side on the outside of the ‘radio, weapon, and health room (The one with the turret on top)’ and go under the pipes. There should be a ledge in front of you. Jump down and turn 90 degrees to the right. There will be another ledge, and on the floor below it will be occupied with air conditioners. (If you couldn’t follow my instructions find a floor that contains air conditioners. It will be to the right of the equipment room. ) Head to a space between the conditioner and the wall. One you summon the horde, go to the position, crouch and keep walking backwards into the wall with your flashlights off. If you do this the zombies (if they cannot find you) will die and so will the tanks. NOTE: Smokers can still smoke you from the ledge above. Watch out for them. The Special Infected will not die off, so if you see one in front of you don’t be afraid to shoot it. The horde will still die. (Tanks will not die if you make noise, so be silent and the tank is toast. ).
Some Things I Recommend.
#1 Use pistols to kill common infected.
#2 Use Main weapons to kill Special infected.
#3 When the tank Falls on his legs after his Health is gone don’t keep shooting at it. Its a waste of ammo.
#4 Don’t Attack the witch unless she is blocking your way to Continue the campaign.
#5 use pipe bombs to kill the horde faster.
#6 Use pain pills if your health is very low. If you don’t want to waste a med kit.
#7 Look for weapons and other items In houses or other places.
Witch Hunter Achievment
Find a pipebomb and pick up the auto-shotgun. Find the witch. Kill all of the zombies in the area. Throw the pipebomb at the witch. (Make sure the pipebomb stops at her. Take out your shotgun. As soon as the pipebomb explodes, shoot at her and run backwards. Make sure you are an accurate shooter. (you might want to be a little far from her because she runs faster than YOU! )If you do it right she should die quickly.
Turret Jump
Go behind a turret and hit it many times for a couple minutes, then jump on top of it. Then jump again and it should send you flying the more you hit it, the more power it has.
Double Shove Speed
Get any gun. And shove, change to gun, shove change gun. You get my drift. This is MADE for online and EXPERT difficulty.
Hint: Shortcut In No Mercy
In Part 1 (The Rooftops), as soon as you start, look over the edge of the building, down to the street. There’s a box partway down, possibly an air conditioner. Hop down to that and it should reduce you to 41% life. Drop to ground from there to skip the interior of the apartments entirely.
Whats Better Pipebomb Or Motococktail
Between the two I think the motococktail is the best (even tho I’m not sure how to spell it) you wouldn’t believe how many times the cocktail has got me out of trouble. But the main 3 reasons I like it are
1. If there are a lot of zombies around you and you need to reload throw it to the ground right under you and (BOOM! ) no more zombies and you can get out of the fire
2. If a horde is after you you can make a barrier of fire and you get some achievements for killing the zombies. (better used when you use a object you have to use and causes hordes of zombies. )
3. A lot easier to kill tanks and witches with these.
Pipebombes are also good:
1. When you are surrounded by zombies throw the pipebombes far as you can
2. When theres a horde throw the pipebomb all the zombies run for it and KA-BOOM! Not as good against multiple hordes and tanks nor witches follow it.
What To Be Aware Of
WARNING! If you are in a tight squeeze, the shotgun is best! The most deadly special infected are boomers and hunters! (in small areas) For example if you turn the corner, and there is a boomer there, it would probably scare you a little and you would shoot him, causing him to blow, and then an ambush, which could end you game, killing everyone! Also, if there is a hunter around the corner, you don’t usually look down lower, so the hunter could pounce you. Smokers are deadly in darker, higher up, wide open areas. For example, a smoker can pull you of of the ledge, but you can’t die, until you fall. Also, a smoker can break your legs, (dead) by pulling you off of a tower or structure, such as the watchtower located in the train-yard in Death Toll.
Easy Tank Kills On Expert
The easiest way to kill a tank that I found was to throw a Molotov at him and just start shooting. But I also know if a tank is smashing an incapped teammate, use an Uzi or Assault Rifle and shoot him right in the face, it usually kills him in 10 seconds or less. Happy Hunting.
Easy Zombie Genocidest
Select No Mercy on Expert Difficulty, then kill all of your teammates. Kill all of the zombies in the hallway using a pipe-bomb. Go back to the safe room, a Boomer should try to puke on you. LET IT It’ll attract the horde. Then jump the table with the ammo and guns on it and face towards the door. Shoot at their arms until all of them are dead. Let the boomer puke on you and repeat the process. I use all of the guns but I prefer the Assault Rifle or the Auto Shotgun. Watch out because once a Tank came after me and tore down the safe room door. But Good Luck.
Jesus Tree
This is very similar to the jesus room, on no mercy. On the finale on blood harvest, when you get to the end zone, there’s a barn. Behind the barn is a tree. The tree sticks out from the others as it appears you can jump in it. The tree has 3 major branches sticking out in opposite directions. Start the horde, than hop in the tree. (It may take a few tries, so get good at it first) Go idol. After going idol after a few seconds, your character should appear in the saferoom. Immediately press return, because if you don’t do it fast enough, you will be returned outside the tree. This is a very good glitch to get zombie genocidist.
Reload Trick
Whenever you are being charged at by a tank or a horde of infected and you have to reload, hit B to reload and press the Melee button and you’ll attack the infected and it WON’T affect your reload. *Note* This works with ALL weapons, even the pistol (s). *Another Note* The Melee isn’t effective against a tank so I’d advise you to run backwards and make use of the shift direction button (right bumper).
Reloading
While you are being attacked by zombies and you have to reload, make sure you pressed the reload button then keep shoving them back until its reloaded
Skip Part Of No Mercey
This skip takes part in the first chapter of No Mercy. When you spawn, grab a weapon/health pack and go to the one ledge where there are two windows. When at the ledge, you will see an air condition system sitting down below on the opposite wall ledge. You must do a run jump off the ledge and land on the air condition. A health pack may be needed if it is not executed properly as some of your health may be lost. If the jump is done correctly, you will not have to fight the horde in the house.
Reload Trick
While using any gun if you run out of ammo just reload and use melee it won’t interrupt the reload (this has saved me so many times).
Beat Expert Campaign
Get some friends and go into death toll, go to the rocks on the other side of the dock and kill them while they’re up there, they will all respawn back in the house, go get them out of the closets and get them to pick up more health packs go back onto the rocks and kill them all again, depending on how good you are you can keep your health packs from the beginning of the final level of the campaign and get up to 10 health kits piled up there for your use. (note: always 1 sometimes 2 health kits on table in the little shack out the front of the house and to the right).
Easy Way To Get Zombie Genocidest
Select death toll on the finale, difficulty on easy! Make sure you have double pistols a molotov and the assault rifle go to the rocks on the dock side of the house, there’s tons of youtube videos on how to get on them. Once you get good at getting up there go alert the horde. Just keep shooting them all even after the boat comes stay on the rocks and keep shooting. I usually get about 2000 kills per campaign. I once got 6000 though.
Off The MAP!!
When you are the hunter and you get passed the train part of No Mercy, go through the doors up to where they press the button and the horde comes. Walk up the stairs – keep walking forward and when you get near the windows , wait for the zombies to jump through it and then jump through one of those windows (ONLY AS A HUNTER) and your off the map!
Pipe Bomb Trick
If you are having trouble with zombies attacking you when you are running to the rescue vehicle, save a pipe bomb until the end and throw it in the opposite direction, the zombies will chase the bomb, giving you time to get to safety.
Auto Shotgun Reload Secret.
When you are vomited on by a boomer and you have to reload you auto shotgun, press B on the controller and start hitting the horde. You should start reloading while hitting. This only works with shotguns.
Super Jump On Turrent
Any level that involves a turrent works. First if it involves the horde coming, do not alert them. It will cause this hint to work harder. Walk to the turrent and melee it for a good minute. Then jump on top of the turrent. It will shoot you up in the air. Also it may send you far so only do this with 1 extra teammate or else you will restart the the map.
Outside The Map On No Mercy
First you grab weapons and med-kit then you walk to the left ledge. Then you jump off and land on another ledge (but this one is white) you might be crippled but some can be there to help you up then you wonder around.
Easy Way To Get CROWNED Achievement
Put difficulty on easy, get an auto-shotgun, and shoot the witch once you are as close as possible.
Best Weapon
The best weapon to use is the HUNTING RIFLE because it is good at long distance, and when you are surrounded by zombies the rifle shots fast and kills with one hit.
Kill Easily
Take out your pistol and shoot zombie in head.

Glitches
Machine Gun Glitch
This glitch will save you but you don’t want to use it often. First off you need either the uzi or the assault rifle. Then you switch to pistols and hold the melee button. While still holding the button switch back to the machine gun and immediately hold the fire button. Now you should be holding both the shoulder buttons. Hold them both for however long it takes to unload your ammo, the gun wont fire though. After that let go of the melee button and your gun should fire the entire clip. This will kill tanks 1-hit on modes up to advanced. (but its not always a 1-hit on advanced).

Hints
Cheats in the Newspaper
Cheat codes can be found in the bottom right hand corner of newspapers so buy them when you can.
Leg Work
This best works in armadillo. If you have the throwing knives, throw one knife using dead eye at the persons leg then see if he pulls out a gun. If he does throw another knife at his other leg from farther away he will sometimes drop on his knees and shoot at you with his gun. Then kill him however you want. I prefer a knife to the eye but do what ever you want.
Easy Skin Animals
When you have shot an animal of any kind and do not like to wait to collect the “reward”, just simply park your horse over the animal, hop off, and hit triangle to skin the animal. This saves alot of time.
Tackle A Bull
First, get in a fight with anyone who will fight back at Macfarlen’s ranch. Go to the cow pen (wile in the fight)and then set up a ground tackle and when the bull charge’s ground tackle. YOU WILL GRAB THE BULL AND THE BULL WILL FALL AND YOU CAN PUNCH HIM!
Homing Dynamite
Select dynamite from your weapons and then go into Dead Eye aiming mode. Position the orange arch so that it passes through or comes into contact with your target. Press R1 to lock onto your target and then press R2 to send the dynamite chasing after the intended victim. The dynamite won’t stop flying after the target until it’s dead. (Also works with firebottles a.k.a. Molotovs).
Make Money
Go out to the mountains and shoot bears, cougars, bighorn up in mountains cougars claws are worth $24 and bears are worth I think $18.
How To Get In The Villa House
In the misson where you kill bill there are some men with axes chopin th door down and you have to use the gatlen gun if you stand inbetween the door and the man you should be spawn inside the house if you want to get out you can just trow a fire bottle at the door and it will say you assalted one of Reyes men.
Early Access To Mexico
Go to “Frontera Bridge.” and ride quickly to the end of the bridge and get off the horse. Let your poor horse fall into the water. Do NOT call a new horse. Next, walk backward until the railroad track starts running into solid ground – it’s not very gar. Next, turn left and go down the steep slope all the way to the riverbank. There are a bunch of small bushes by the river and the music should also switch to Spanish music. If you don’t hear the new music you’ll have to start over. Finally, set up a campsite when you hear the music and you will then be on the Mexican side of the river. The “Romita de la Baya” bridge will take you back across the border, and you’ll have to do the same thing with the horse here, let it fall into the river and set up a campsite on the island. The campsite should be near the edge of the island to the north, either to the left or the right of the bridge.
Hint
If you go to the shallows, you will get a volcanic rifle, by defeating the gang members.

When you are a few hundred yards away from the mission’s beginningpoint, press Triangle (on PlayStation3) or Y (on Xbox 360) to jump free. Remainidle and do not get back on the carriage. Eventually West Dickens will jump offthe carriage and begin urinating.
Make Easy Money
Buy the house available in Armadillo, then after you did that, go to the bank and go in, DO NOT KILL THE GUARD, go to the back room and simply break the safes just like you use a combination lock for real and check the boxes in the same room as the safes and you should have 180-200 dollars.
Master Level 10
To kill all 3 rare animals, go and steal a stage coach. just sit in the drivers seat and shoot the rare animals. the animals can’t reach you. It’s like shooting fish ina barrel.
Buy A Mule
You can buy a mule in some general stores in Mexico but they are slow and will not jump over anything.
Sheep
You can find a sheep in the pens in armadillo and sometimes in the MacFarland ranch (can only be found in the day time and are rare animals).
Warning When Using Cheats
If you use a cheat code you will not be able to unlock trophies or save the game.
Easy Money
Hi RDR fans, I know how to make easy money. Some ways a good person might are:jobs, bounty hunting, help people who are being robbed, if a band of thugs (people who ride in on their horses shooting pistols in the air) shooting them, looting dead peoples bodies (they wont need it where they’re going), and hunting. Evil ways are:gambling, robbing, cattle and horse rustling, murdering then looting the body, winning duels, aim at people with your gun because they’ll pull out their gun and shoot you and that gives you the right to defend yourself and hit and runs.
